Your new companyA leading UK infrastructure contractor is delivering a major nationally significant project and is seeking a Senior Section Engineer (Structures) to support a key package of works. This is a complex civils scheme with a strong emphasis on structural delivery across multiple work areas.Your new roleAs a Senior Section Engineer, you will be responsible for managing the engineering and technical delivery of a defined section of structural works, ensuring construction is delivered in line with design, programme and quality standards.You will play a key role in bridging the gap between design and construction, supporting site leadership and ensuring technically compliant delivery.Key responsibilities will include:Managing the engineering delivery of structural works (RC structures, foundations and associated civils)Ensuring construction aligns with drawings, specifications and design intentLeading technical queries (TQs) and resolving design issuesDeveloping short-term programmes and lookahead plansCoordinating resources, materials and subcontractorsSupporting constructability reviews and methodology planningMaintaining accurate as-built records and redline drawingsManaging inspections, testing and quality documentationSupervising Site Engineers and providing technical guidanceSupporting the Sub Agent and Site Agent in achieving programme targetsHealth, Safety & QualityEnsure works are delivered in line with RAMS and safe systems of workDeliver briefings including toolbox talks and task briefingsMaintain compliance with safety, environmental and quality standardsEnsure inspection and test plans (ITPs) and records are fully completedWhat you'll need to succeedExperience working as a Senior Engineer or Section Engineer on structures packagesStrong background in reinforced concrete and structural civilsExperience working on major linear infrastructure projects such as HS2, highways or similar large-scale schemesStrong technical understanding of construction methodologies and QA processesExperience coordinating site teams and subcontractorsExcellent problem-solving and communication skillsQualifications:Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalentWorking towards Chartered status (ICE )CSCSWhat you need to do nowIf you're interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV, or call us now.If this job isn't quite right for you, but you are looking for a new position, please contact us for a confidential discussion about your career.Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and employment business for the supply of temporary workers.
