Senior Robotics Software Engineer£65,000 - £90,000 DOE | RemoteCompany Overview Our client is building advanced AI and autonomy technologies that solve some of the most technically challenging problems in computer vision, robotics and machine learning.Role Overview We are seeking a Senior Robotics Software Engineer to develop, test and deploy software for autonomous and semi-autonomous robotic systems. Working across simulation, control systems, navigation and hardware integration, you will play a key role in delivering robust real-world solutions whilst helping establish engineering best practice across the robotics function.This role would suit someone who enjoys solving complex autonomy challenges and has experience developing software for UAVs, robotic platforms or advanced control systems.Responsibilities Develop and test robotics software using Python and C++Design and implement control systems for autonomous and semi-autonomous platformsSupport prototyping, simulation, validation and optimisation of guidance and control systemsIntegrate sensors, actuators and communication interfacesDevelop navigation, localisation and autonomy capabilitiesProvide technical leadership and establish engineering best practices across robotics projectsSupport knowledge sharing and technical development within the wider teamRequirements Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Robotics or a related discipline advantageousCommercial experience developing software for robotic systemsStrong Python and C++ development skillsExperience with ROS2Knowledge of control methodologies including PID and Model Predictive Control (MPC)Strong software engineering and problem-solving capabilitiesExperience delivering production-quality robotics solutionsDesirable Skills UAV or drone development experienceFixed-wing or quadcopter systemsSLAM (Simultaneous Localisation and Mapping)Navigation and autonomy systemsSensor fusion and state estimationGazebo, Isaac Sim, MATLAB/Simulink or similar simulation platformsReal-time systems developmentReinforcement learningPybind11What We're Looking For Demonstrable experience delivering robotics projectsStrong software engineering principles and coding standardsAbility to take ownership of technical challengesSomeone passionate about robotics and autonomy, whether through commercial experience or personal projectsWhy Join?This is an opportunity to work on genuinely cutting-edge technology alongside a highly intelligent and curious team tackling complex real-world challenges.
