Senior React Engineer (Contract, Remote) in United

Job Description

Whiskey Social is a mobile app for whiskey fans. I'm hiring one senior React engineer: contract, remote within the US, starting in October.

You'd be the only engineer, working directly with the founders, Adam Bancroft and Jerry Corley, and me (Aaron McElroy, Chief Product Officer).

What you'll do

\n

\n
• Read the code first, then tell me what you'd fix first and why

\n

• Own the technical decisions across the React app and the serverless AWS backend

\n

• Help implement ai vision and personal intelligence features

\n

• Work from tickets written against the code itself, and push back when one is wrong

\n

• Ship to both app stores

\n

\n

\n

What you bring

\n

\n
• You've shipped React and Expo to both stores

\n

• You've run serverless AWS in production: AppSync, DynamoDB, Lambda, Cognito

\n

• You use AI coding tools every day and check what they hand back before it ships

\n

• You've inherited a codebase before and left it better

\n

• You don't need to know whiskey. We do.

\n

Our process: a short live video call (camera on) with ID verification, then a small paid trial project. We never ask for payment, recorded video submissions, or remote-desktop access, and we only contact candidates from an @whiskeysocial.app address.
