Senior Quantity Surveyor - Water Projects \n\nLocation: Southampton\n Contract Type: Inside IR35\n Salary: £500/550 Per day \n\nAbout the Role\n\nWe are seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our growing commercial team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional to take ownership of commercial management across key projects, ensuring effective cost control, compliance, and value delivery. \nYou'll play a pivotal role in driving commercial performance - managing contracts, leading negotiations, and working collaboratively with clients, project teams, and subcontractors to ensure successful outcomes.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nLead and develop the efficient and effective management of all commercial and contractual activities.\n\nPrepare and issue accurate, timely, and compliant notices, correspondence, and reports.\n\nIdentify and communicate contractual and commercial risks and opportunities to the Project Director/Manager.\n\nMaintain registers of variations, delays, extensions of time, and claims.\n\nEnsure consistent implementation of company commercial policies and procedures.\n\nAssist with the preparation of monthly progress valuations and claims for completed works.\n\nLiaise closely with the Employer's and Client's commercial teams.\n\nSupport pre-contract tender negotiations and prepare associated reports.\n\nProduce monthly cost reports, forecasts, and contract budget updates.\n\nReview value management processes and provide advice on risk management.\n\nPrepare, review, and complete subcontract documentation.\n\nOversee change management and ensure robust cost control throughout project delivery.\n\nPrepare and agree interim applications for payment and final accounts with subcontractors.\n\nManage subcontracts from initial order placement through to final account.\n\nMonitor and update the Procurement Plan, including commercial comparisons and recommendations.\n\nProduce requisition and award letters.\n\nReconcile weekly plant, material, and labour costs against budgets.\n\nSupport main contract management, including producing change reports and value change forms.\n\nPerson Specification\n\nEssential:\n\nMinimum 5 years' commercial experience within the construction industry, with knowledge and appreciation of the relevant sector.\n\nDegree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent qualification.\nDesirable:\n\n10 years' experience within a relevant sector.\n\nProfessional membership (RICS, ICE, or equivalent) or working towards chartership.\n\nStrong understanding of contract law, cost management, and procurement processes.\n\nExcellent analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.\n\nWhy Join Us\n\nOpportunity to lead high-profile and complex projects.\n\nSupportive and collaborative working environment.\n\nClear pathways for professional development and progression.\n\nCompetitive salary, company benefits, and ongoing training
