Senior Quantity Surveyor\n\nLocation: Watford\n\nSector: Modular Groundworks & Civil Engineering\n\nSalary: £65,000 - £80,000 DOE\n\nAbout the Company\n\nOur client is a leading specialist contractor delivering high-quality groundwork and civil engineering services across the modular construction sector. With a culture built on loyalty, agility, pragmatism and teamwork, they are entering an exciting period of growth — and now seek an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their expanding commercial team.\n\nThe Role\n\nThis is a key senior appointment, offering the opportunity to take ownership of the commercial delivery of multiple modular groundwork and civils projects.

You’ll manage the full lifecycle of each project — from tendering and cost planning through to final account — ensuring financial control, value optimisation and risk management at every stage.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nOversee and manage all commercial aspects of assigned projects from start to finish.\n\t\nPrepare, submit and review tenders, budgets, and valuations.\n\t\nManage subcontractor procurement, contracts and payments.\n\t\nPrepare and monitor cost reports, forecasts and cash flows.\n\t\nLead negotiations on variations, claims and final accounts.\n\t\nEnsure compliance with contract terms (NEC/JCT).\n\t\nCollaborate closely with project and site teams to maintain profitability and performance.\n\t\nSupport process improvement and mentoring of junior QS staff.\n\nAbout You\n\nDegree qualified in Quantity Surveying or related field.\n\t\nMinimum of 8 years’ experience in civil engineering, groundworks or modular construction.\n\t\nStrong understanding of NEC or JCT forms of contract.\n\t\nExcellent negotiation, communication and analytical skills.\n\t\nProactive, organised, and able to manage multiple projects concurrently.\n\t\nMRICS or working towards chartership (advantageous).\n\nWhat’s on Offer\n\nCompetitive salary and benefits package.\n\t\nGenuine long-term career progression within a growing, forward-thinking business.\n\t\nExposure to major modular and civil projects across the UK.\n\t\nSupportive and collaborative company culture
