Senior Estimator / Quantity Surveyor – Llantwit Major

Circa £70,000 + Package

Walker & Sloan are representing a leading South Wales contractor with a strong track record in social housing, regeneration, and community-led projects. With an enviable pipeline of work secured through frameworks and repeat clients, they’re now looking for a commercially sharp Senior Estimator / Quantity Surveyor to help drive their projects forward and strengthen the commercial team.

This role is ideal for someone with strong tendering and pre-construction experience who can also support commercial management once schemes go live. It’s a hybrid position that combines the best of both worlds — strategic bid input and hands-on project delivery.

The role

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Leading on tender submissions, compiling competitive and accurate bids
• Preparing budgets, cost plans, valuations, and financial forecasts
• Managing cost control and contract administration on live projects
• Liaising with clients, consultants, and subcontractors to ensure cost efficiency
• Providing strategic commercial advice to directors and project teams
• Identifying risks and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle

You

We’re keen to speak to candidates who have:

• Experience as a Senior Estimator, QS, or dual-role professional
• Strong knowledge of social housing / affordable housing projects
• Excellent analytical and numerical skills
• A proactive, detail-oriented approach to tendering and cost management
• Confidence in dealing with stakeholders at all levels
