Civil Engineering Contractor are looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to cover their Western region based in both Southampton and Weston-super-Mere to work on projects from Pier restoration, climate adaptation to infrastructure projects. The Senior Quantity Surveyor will receive a generous salary up to £75,000 + Car allowance or Salary Sacrifice Electric / Hybrid Car Scheme, company bonus, Private Healthcare and fantastic career development to Regional MQS.



The client requires a Senior Quantity Surveyor to provide a thorough and professional commercial service for all projects for which they are responsible. It will be the successful candidate's responsibility to ensure business objectives in terms of health and safety, profitability and customer focus are achieved or exceeded.



Senior Quantity Surveyor Salary & Benefits

Senior Quantity Surveyor Job Overview



Manage the Cost Value Reconciliation process within the business

Establish and maintain the Operations/Commercial partnership required

Monitor manage risk & associated budgets

Monitor performance standards & quality

Procure subcontractors at lower than Tender sums whenever possible. Seek to negotiate the best price for the company

Build strong relationships with clients & their representatives

Discuss and develop procurement strategy with team members & in accordance with the contract programme. Monitor & update as necessary

Submit timely applications for payments to ensure cash can be collected

Manage subcontractors effectively & in accordance with their terms & conditions

Ensure project cost forecasts are updated accurately, in a timely manner



Senior Quantity Surveyor Job Requirements



Experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within a Heavy Civil Engineering Environment

A working understanding NEC3,4, ECC, ICE & JCT types of contracts

Understanding of Tendering & Procurement processes

Experience of Tidal projects would be highly advantageous

QHSE legislation

Experience of Dispute resolution

Understanding of CVR's & financial reports

Full driving licence and CSCS Card
