Senior Quantity Surveyor

A respected multi-disciplinary construction consultancy is seeking an ambitious Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their growing Birmingham office. This is a prime opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to step into a key role within a well-established UK-wide practice known for delivering expert cost consultancy and project management services across sectors such as residential, commercial, healthcare, and education.



The Senior Quantity Surveyor



The successful Senior Quantity Surveyor will be given a clear path to Director level, with the chance to take a leading role in helping build and shape the commercial team locally. This role is ideal for a Senior Quantity Surveyor who enjoys client-facing responsibilities, mentoring junior staff, and contributing to business development.



Chartered status (MRICS) is essential for this Senior Quantity Surveyor position. A background in monitoring surveying is highly desirable, as the consultancy is seeing increased demand in this area. Candidates with strong industry contacts and an interest in growing client accounts will be particularly well regarded.



Role & Responsibilities:



Deliver full pre- and post-contract Quantity Surveying duties across a range of sectors

Lead cost planning, procurement advice, and contract administration

Undertake monitoring surveying duties, including reporting to funders and stakeholders

Develop and manage client relationships, supporting business development activities

Provide mentorship to junior surveyors and support team growth

Attend client meetings and site visits, acting as a senior representative of the consultancyRequired Experience:



Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline (RICS-accredited)

Chartered MRICS status is essential

Minimum of 5 years' experience in a consultancy environment

Strong background in both pre- and post-contract services

Experience with monitoring surveying or fund monitoring is desirable

Excellent communication and client-facing skills

Industry contacts and business development experience are advantageous
