Senior Quantity Surveyor \n Salary: £51,000 – £60,000 + Car / Allowance\n\nWe are working with a leading civil engineering contractor who are seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to take a key commercial role on a £10M construction scheme at Manchester Airport. The project involves the creation of a major new car park and will require strong expertise in earthworks and drainage.\n\nThis is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor looking to take ownership of the commercial management of a significant infrastructure scheme, while leading and mentoring a team within a forward-thinking business.\n\nThe Role\n\nAs Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will:\n\nTake the commercial lead on the project, ensuring delivery within programme and budget.\n\nManage NEC4 Option A contracts, including forecasting, cost reporting, and administration.\n\nWork closely with project managers, engineers, and key stakeholders to achieve client expectations.\n\nDrive cost efficiency through value engineering and effective procurement.\n\nImplement strong risk management and ensure contractual compliance.\n\nProvide leadership and mentoring to Quantity Surveyors, fostering development and excellence.\n\nDeliver clear reporting on project performance and commercial outcomes.\n\nThe Person\n\nThe ideal Senior Quantity Surveyor will have:\n\nA proven track record within civil engineering or infrastructure projects.\n\nStrong experience with NEC4 contracts, particularly Option A.\n\nDemonstrated ability to control budgets, particularly with subcontractor packages.\n\nSolid knowledge of forecasting, cost management, and financial reporting.\n\nExcellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.\n\nA degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related discipline (RICS or CIOB accreditation desirable).\n\nWhy Apply?\n\nThis is a fantastic opportunity to join a major infrastructure scheme in the Manchester Airport area, taking the commercial lead on a high-profile project.
