Senior Quantity Surveyor

Job Description

Our client is one of the UK's leading privately owned infrastructure specialists and Main Contractors, delivering projects and frameworks across the UK.\n\nAs a key member of the team reporting into the Commercial Manager, you will liaise with the client commercial team and representatives, subcontractors and other third parties on commercial issues including the agreement of variations, claims and any additional payments.\n\nAs an ideal candidate, you will be from a civil engineering background with water industry experience and experience within a self-delivery environment.\n\nFreelance Senior Quantity Surveyor roles and responsibilities:\n\nProvision of accurate and timely cost and value reporting at both project and business unit level.\nProvision of accurate cash flow reporting, cost management and project forecasting.\nDrafting and updating a monthly CVR, cost and commercial plans.\nResponsibility for subcontract procurement, negotiation and financial accounting.\nPreparation of project applications for payment to final account settlement.\nEffectively manage contract and subcontract agreements, primarily IChemE and NEC formsFreelance Senior Quantity Surveyor requirements:\n\nHND or degree qualified in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent)\nPrevious experience in the construction industry, working on infrastructure and water projects.\nExperience working within a self-delivery environment.\nFamiliarity with IChemE/ NEC forms of contract and knowledge and understanding of Construction Law.\nPrevious experience of subcontractor procurement and management.\nDemonstrable experience of monthly forecasting and cost analysis.\nExcellent communication, numeric and computer literacy skills, proficient in Microsoft OfficeFreelance Senior Quantity Surveyor Benefits:\n\nOpportunity to work for one of the UK's largest privately owned civil engineering and infrastructure specialists.\nCompetitive day rate depending upon experience (inside ir35).\nLong-term contract (1year+)\nFlexible working available between offices, sites and wfh.\nImmediate role. \n\nIf you are interested in this Freelance Senior Quantity Surveyor role, apply now
