Job Summary:
The Senior Supplier Quality Engineer is a key leadership role within the Supplier Quality team. This position requires a seasoned professional who can serve as a subject matter expert in supplier quality processes, offering strategic guidance and mentoring to junior team members. The role involves both strategic planning and tactical execution to support long-term goals for improving supplier performance and quality management across the supply chain.
Essential Responsibilities:

Lead supplier quality performance initiatives, including driving corrective actions, managing risk reduction strategies, supporting new product development activities at suppliers, and implementing supply chain process improvements.

Proactively identify improvement opportunities within the supply base or internal quality systems, and drive initiatives for continuous improvement.

Develop and deliver training materials for suppliers, helping them align with organizational quality expectations and performance standards.

Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Purchasing, and Suppliers to define and execute supplier qualification and First Article Inspection (FAI) processes.

Partner directly with suppliers to enhance product quality and support improvements in their quality management systems.

Evaluate, qualify, and manage new and existing suppliers to ensure alignment with organizational goals and maximize supply chain value.

Monitor and report supplier performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as needed.

Review and interpret technical requirements and drawings with suppliers to ensure clarity and compliance.

Analyze quality data and present findings in supplier performance reviews and internal quality meetings.

Lead investigations into supplier or component performance issues, including root cause analysis and implementation of corrective/preventive actions.

Conduct supplier audits and oversee follow-up actions related to audit findings and corrective measures.

Travel to supplier sites for performance assessments, capability reviews, and quality improvement initiatives.

Collaborate with internal stakeholders across departments to ensure alignment with quality objectives and organizational goals.
Education and Experience Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field required; advanced degree (MBA or MS) .

5–7 years of relevant experience in supplier quality, manufacturing, quality engineering, or related fields.

Experience with project management; proficiency with MS Project is a plus.

Lead Auditor certification is .

Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification .
Skills and Competencies:

Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, including experience working with purchasing, engineering, and manufacturing teams.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly.

In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, particularly in electronics and mechanical assembly.

Proficiency in quality management systems, tools, and standards.

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and schematics.

Strong skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Competence in statistical tools and methods, including process capability, measurement system analysis, DOE, and SPC.

Self-starter with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.

Willingness and ability to travel up to 30%, including international travel as needed.
