Senior Project Manager - Water Utilities - Dublin

Job DescriptionThe senior project manager will directly report to the client’s programme manager.Delivering identified capital, infrastructure or water network management (WNM) projects with the focus on budget, schedule and quality output.Managing directly, and in certain circumstances liaise with others in the management of and engagement with a set of internal and external stakeholders, including technical services providers, internal and external project managers (including local authority project managers), asset management, asset operations, HSQE and all departments, to ensure project timescales are met.Assisting in the procurement (where appropriate), managing and directing a diverse range of consultant expertise across a multi- disciplinary set of skills including engineering design (civil, mechanical, electrical, water and wastewater process, structural), environmental, archaeological, quantity surveying and accountancy.Overseeing the management of construction project design, estimation and project planning including all relevant statutory processes, procurement management and maintenance forecasting, working closely with all departments (e.g. asset management, HSQE, communications, customer operations and asset operations departments).Managing the day to day construction service providers for all asset delivery projects/programmes, including scheduling, reporting, conformance and compliance with contract terms and employer’s requirements.Managing and delivering the projects/programmes through the design risk review/risk workshop process.Managing the project control, including resourcing and service delivery requirements, ensuring consultant supervision where relevant and approving all payment certificates.Providing KPI management across a number of different consultancy and construction contracts.Managing the delivery of ECI Contracts including contract administration, governance of outsourced design review, technical assurance, specialist studies, estimation services, and construction supervision.Overseeing the production and approval of project delivery plans, contractor plans, cash flow projections and earned value analysis.Completing the project close-out activities, including commissioning and handover to operations and maintenance.Managing, assessing and approving the changes and impact on budgets and delivery dates and claims for additional costs and extensions of time. Reviewing any planned scope changes with client’s programme portfolio manager.Preparing and submitting regular project reports, registers (including risk registers) programme reports for contract management as well as ad hoc reports coordinating with the client’s programme manager.Being accountable for aggregated risk mitigation and resolution of issues relating to managed projects.Carrying out regular reviews of programme and project progress, budgets, changes, risks and issues, and ensure that reports and scorecards are produced and circulated in a timely manner.Providing input into the on-going development of new templates, documents, systems and processes for project/programme management to incorporate lessons learned and efficiencies.Performing any other duties delegated by the client’s programme management team.RequirementsRelevant third level qualification preferably in engineering or related project management discipline.Minimum of 10 years’ experience in managing large or multiple infrastructure, capital projects or programmes (ideally in the water utility).Capability of mobilising and managing the supply chain, including design, planning and construction services.Strong knowledge and experience in project/programme management, contract management (i.e. through use of major contract forms e.g. NEC3, FIDIC or similar), strategic planning, methodologies and construction delivery best practice.Familiarity in using project, programme and finance management tools such as Oracle and Primavera P6 or similar.Background in managing a large team, with strong people and conflict resolution and commercial contract management skills.Proven track record with dealing with complex issues, proactively and in a timely fashion, along with the ability to communicate complex information to others.Proven ability to successfully implement and execute programmes and drive high performance.Good working knowledge of National and European environmental, water and planning legislation.Strong business acumen with financial perspective in the forefront.PackageSalary €75K - €85K permanent staff role with excellent company benefits
