Senior Project Manager – Automation & Capital Equipment Projects
NOTE - When sourcing, candidate can be from the Detroit area also.
Our client is seeking a skilled Senior Project Manager to lead high-value, complex automation projects from proposal through client acceptance. If you're a results-driven leader with experience delivering capital equipment projects in fast-paced environments, this is your chance to join an innovative team driving the future of advanced manufacturing.
In this role, you'll be the primary point of contact for customers and internal teams, managing project scope, cost, and schedule. You'll collaborate closely with engineering, operations, and vendors to deliver fully integrated automation systems. You'll also mentor project managers and help optimize execution practices across the business.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Lead full lifecycle execution of automation projects
- Manage client communications, scope changes, budgets, and risk
- Coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers
- Contribute to proposal development and scheduling
- Guide internal teams using predictive and Agile methods
- Mentor PM team members and support functional integration
What We're Looking For:
- Bachelor's in Engineering or related field (Master's )
- 10+ years in capital equipment or automation project management
- Strong knowledge of PMBOK; PMP or CSM
- Experience in equipment design, build, and installation
- Familiarity with SolidWorks, PDM, and manufacturing processes
- Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills
