Senior Project Manager / Director – Data Centre Commissioning - London/Manchester / UK - Excellent package\n\nA leading and rapidly growing MEP Engineering practice is urgently seeking an experienced GC Construction Project Manager to join their Commissioning Management Division. You do not need to have a commissioning background but a sound track record in the 5 levels of the construction process. This role requires someone with great leadership skills who can develop talent, run a P&L ( especially with time cards etc.) and be willing to travel across Europe to Data Centre sites.
We need a Building Services Engineer who has experience of dispute resolution and mediation as well as great client facing skills. Precious experience of European or EMEA projects is a distinct advantage, My client does not do hands on commissioning, just the validation and verification.\n\nPrimary Objective\n\nThe primary objectives of our Director – Data Centre Commissioning is to support the Managing Principal to drive the delivery of the financial targets, efficiently following the defined processes whilst at all times ensuring Cx services have been safely, diligently and accurately planned, managed, executed and recorded and all obligations in managing our people and our client commitments are met.\n\nResponsibilities\n\nIn the role of Director – Data Centre Commissioning, we'll count on you to:\nDrive consistent and effective communication across Cx and the Enterprise\nSupport development and successfully deliver of financial budgets and forecasts.\nServe as a Senior / Escalation point for Selected key clients.\nleverage company-wide project delivery tools and systems to ensure successful project delivery, workload forecasting, staff recruitment and development, and staff performance management.\nConduct selected Key clients contract negotiations and management.\nIn close collaboration with accounting leadership monitor and manage financial aspects of business operations for which you are accountable.\nWork closely with our safety team in developing guidance and safe work systems that relate to commissioning including development and refinement of company-wide safety protocols and management KPIs.\nParticipate in local, regional and global leadership meetings as required.\nAssist and review risk management plans for projects.\nAssist in the identification and prioritisation of new hires and in the recruiting of new candidates including graduates and apprentices\nSupport the annual budgeting process with respect to commissioning planning.\nDemonstrate a commitment to quality, ongoing improvement and our values.\nDrive the identification and development of organic and new business opportunities\nCollaborate with other leaders in defining opportunities and engagement strategies for selected Key clients.\n\nOther Duties:\n\nStructure training and succession of the teams to enhance performance and ensure future engineering expertise in the company.\nLead as required to support the bid process through delivering high quality, commercially viable bid documents\nSupport the Managing Principal in running the Cx Business class assisting with all aspects of quality management.\nEnsure No Claims are made on PI, ensure all Contract documents are diligently checked.\nSubject to approval, interview and recruit new personnel / leadership\nSupport, own, develop and best accountable for best practice in-house technical documents and guides.\nSign off timesheets and expenses of direct reports\nAuthorise holiday requests of direct reports\nComplete Health and safety and quality audits during site attendance.\nMaintain all quality & ISO Systems\n\nSkills and Experience\n\nBEng Mechanical Engineering with Building Services and/or; MEng Electronic & Electrical Engineering with Building Services. Considerable experience will be sought to demonstrate project management skills.\n5years’ experience within a Project Management/Commissioning Management function in a building service orientated business.
Worked within company Quality & Environmental policies and procedures. IT Literate – MS Office package.\nA strong communicator with a controlled direct and open style. Enthusiasm and drive with evidence of strong client focus, a flexible and resilient attitude.\nSelf-motivated.

Facilitates development of others by use of appropriate skills.\nAble to focus on desired outcomes, and take decisive action when circumstances change.\n\nRequired Qualifications\n\nBachelor's degree in related field\n10 years related experience\nA minimum of 5 years of project management experience\nFamiliar with Microsoft Office, estimating and scheduling software, project management software\nMust have the ability to interact with various design teams, have excellent organizational, project management and communication (both written and verbal) skills\nAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our company culture is a must
