Core Responsibilities
Project Planning and Scheduling: Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and schedules, ensuring that resources, materials, and personnel are allocated efficiently to meet deadlines and project milestones
Budget and Cost Management: Monitor expenses, forecast costs, and implement adjustments to prevent overspending
Contract and Subcontractor Management: Oversee the hiring, negotiation, and management of subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring that all contractual obligations are met and work is executed according to specifications
Quality Assurance and Compliance: Ensure that construction work meets quality standards, adheres to safety regulations, and environmental laws, and conducts inspections to maintain compliance
Team Leadership and Coordination: Lead multidisciplinary teams, including superintendents, foremen, and laborers, resolving conflicts, motivating staff, and maintaining effective communication
Risk Management and Problem Solving: Identify potential risks, develop mitigation strategies, and address issues promptly to avoid project delays or cost overruns
Client and Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, vendors, and internal teams, providing regular updates on project progress, changes, and completion status
Documentation and Reporting: Maintaining accurate project records, including contracts, change orders, schedules, and financial reports, is essential for accountability and future reference
Additional Responsibilities
- Overseeing procurement and inventory of materials and equipment.
- Managing project change orders and negotiating contract terms
- Ensuring safety protocols are followed on-site and promoting a culture of safety
Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field and may possess certifications such as PMP or CCM. Essential skills include leadership, communication, problem-solving, budgeting, scheduling, and proficiency with project management software.
Watermain/Waterline construction experience a must
English/Spanish speaking a plus
