Senior Project Manager

Job Description

Our client is seeking a Senior Project Manager to join their projects team, delivering large-scale works across manufacturing and industrial hubs in the Midlands and North. This role is ideal for a technically strong Project Manager with a background in mechanical or electrical engineering, who also brings a solid understanding of commercial and contractual frameworks.

The Projects

• Major manufacturing sites in Nottingham, Derby, and Hull.
• Project values typically range between £3m – £5m, often involving plant replacement and M&E-heavy schemes.
• Technical and complex project delivery, often across multiple sites simultaneously.

What You’ll Do

• Manage projects through the full lifecycle, from feasibility and design to completion and handover.
• Deliver technically complex projects with a strong focus on M&E and plant replacement.
• Oversee contractors, suppliers, budgets, programmes, and safety standards.
• Build strong, trust-based client relationships that generate repeat business.
• Ensure all works are delivered to the highest technical, contractual, and safety standards.

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience delivering projects in the £3m – £5m range, ideally in manufacturing or industrial environments.
• A strong mechanical or electrical background, with hands-on knowledge of plant replacement schemes.
• Commercial and contractual understanding – experience working with contracts such as JCT and NEC terms, and awareness of risks and mitigations associated with different forms of agreement.
• Ability to manage multiple sites and stakeholders confidently.
• Personable, approachable, and a strong communicator, with the ability to build trust quickly.
