Position Summary
The Senior Project Engineer provides technical and administrative services on large-scale wastewater treatment and utility infrastructure projects. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who can manage project planning, scheduling, cost control, procurement, and subcontractor coordination while ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and in alignment with ACE’s high standards of quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering support for day-to-day construction activities on assigned projects.

  • Manage daily operations for multiple construction projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.

  • Review and understand contract plans, specifications, technical submittals, and shop drawings.

  • Interpret engineering drawings to facilitate accurate project execution, including creating and analyzing work packages.

  • Perform quality control checks of submittals and materials delivered to the project.

  • Manage project budgets and schedules, optimize resource allocation, track expenses, and ensure cost-effectiveness.

  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, contractors, and stakeholders to streamline project delivery and resolve on-site challenges.

  • Utilize advanced construction management techniques to enhance project efficiency and overall outcomes.

  • Identify field problems, conduct analysis, and propose innovative solutions to constructability challenges.

  • Coordinate and manage subcontractor activities, including contract negotiations, scheduling, and quality control oversight.

  • Generate and submit daily reports to provide real-time insights on project progress, KPIs, and milestones.

  • Attend all project meetings.

  • Supervise 1-3 Project Engineers/Co-Ops.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

  • Minimum one (1) year of experience as a Project Engineer or Construction Engineer, including experience on wastewater treatment plant projects.

  • Strong knowledge of construction management principles, project scheduling, budgeting, and quality control.

  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

  • Drug testing and background checks required.

Working Environment

  • Full-time, on active construction sites and in office settings as needed.

  • Routine use of standard construction tools, personal protective equipment (PPE), and office equipment.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, and climb stairs/ladders on site as needed.

  • Regularly required to talk, hear, and use hands/arms to handle tools, equipment, and project documentation.
