Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer to support renewable energy project initiatives in Italy. This role provides the opportunity to act as the primary technical point of contact for projects across onshore wind, solar PV, BESS, and P2X technologies, supporting the project lifecycle from feasibility and design through to construction.

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to layout design and energy yield calculations for renewable energy projects

• Support permitting design and preparation of required documentation

• Liaise with statutory stakeholders regarding technical matters and regulatory submissions

• Provide project engineering support to achieve permitting for viable projects efficiently

• Manage specific work packages in support of the development team

• Collaborate with internal competence centers (wind, PV, BESS) to optimise layouts for energy yield, cost efficiency, and permitting

• Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations

• Coordinate third-party technical contracts and consultants

• Support MET campaign strategies and wind resource analysis

• Identify and preliminarily design technical solutions for grid connection, coordinating with external contractors as needed

• Coordinate the grid connection process, including all technical and administrative activities from request to physical connection

• Liaise with DSOs and TSOs on day-to-day technical matters

• Prepare technical specifications and provide engineering support for equipment selection

• Provide construction monitoring support

Qualifications and Experience

• University degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or Renewable Energy Engineering

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in renewable energy projects, preferably wind and solar

• Familiarity with energy modelling tools such as PVSyst and WindPro

• Strong understanding of regulatory standards and permitting processes

• Knowledge of solar PV system design and grid integration

• Experience managing cross-functional teams and complex project timelines

Skills and Competencies

• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills

• Detail-oriented, able to manage multiple tasks under pressure and meet deadlines

• Fluent in Italian and English, with strong technical communication skills in both languages

• Willingness to travel occasionally within Italy
