Senior Project Engineer
Location: Sheboygan, WI
Reports to: Director of Project Engineering
Job Description:
Lead or assist cross-functional teams in implementing process, equipment, or packaging
projects in support of new product introductions, co-manufacturing projects, or internal projects
that enhance the capability of production lines (equipment efficiency, flexibility, and capacity)
Provide initial project development including concept, design, layouts, cost estimating, cost
justification, research, and selection of best equipment, and project submittals with timelines
and contingencies
Responsible for total project management including capital request, installation management,
project commissioning, cost analysis, training, documentation, project closing, and regular
updates to stakeholders
Work closely with internal customers (manufacturing, R&D, Logistics, etc.) to support them in the
accomplishment of their goals and objectives
Ensure cross-functional stakeholder involvement throughout the total project process
Successfully work with vendors, contractors, governmental and regulatory agencies (USDA,
OSHA, DNR, EPA, etc.) to the extent needed for the completion of projects
Provide advice and technical direction as a support member for company teams and employees
on an as-needed basis
Provide continuous improvement in productivity pipeline and offer innovative ways to improve
performance
Facilitate and coordinate several projects simultaneously
Lead projects in support of efforts to constantly improve safety, product quality, maintainability,
continuous improvement, and customer service throughout the company.
Qualifications:
BS Engineering or related field required
Minimum 10 years experience required in any combination of the following roles: project
engineering, plant engineering, or maintenance management
Demonstrated experience in the design and installation of process, packaging, and material
handling operations
Thermal meat processing experience a big plus; experience in a USDA-regulated facility
Proven track record of managing projects
Experience with the design/evaluation of ergonomics, human safety, and food safety
AutoCAD 3D modeling skills
Proven ability to drive continuous improvement and innovation
