Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Production Supervisor to join our manufacturing team in Middleton, United States. The ideal candidate will lead daily production operations across multiple stages of the manufacturing process—including reagent preparation, enzyme production, competent cell manufacturing, dispensing, and assembly—ensuring operational efficiency, adherence to quality and safety standards, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
- Manage and coordinate daily production activities to meet output targets and quality standards
- Supervise, train, and mentor a team of production workers, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement
- Implement and maintain lean manufacturing principles to optimize production processes and reduce waste
- Monitor and analyze production metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies throughout the production floor
- Collaborate with other departments such as quality control, maintenance, and supply chain to streamline operations
- Develop and maintain production schedules, coordinating with supply chain to ensure timely delivery of materials
- Troubleshoot production issues and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members
- Participate in continuous improvement projects and initiatives to enhance overall production efficiency
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent combination of applicable education and relevant work experience.
- Experience: Minimum of 4+ years of progressive experience in a manufacturing or operations capacity within an ISO-regulated facility.
- Leadership: Proven success in managing and developing business staff, with demonstrated ability to lead and manage teams in a dynamic environment.
- Project Management: Track record of participating in or leading cross-functional project teams to achieve organizational objectives and deliverables.
- Process Improvement: Demonstrated experience implementing new processes that enhance quality, efficiency, and profitability in manufacturing operations.
- Quality Systems: Prior experience working within a Quality Management System (QMS) and related organizational functions.
- Technical Skills: Proficient computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Qualifications:
- Technical Expertise: Knowledge of purification principles and familiarity with processes such as:
- Solution and column preparation
- Plasmid creation
- E. coli cell transformation and culture
- Homogenization, precipitation, chromatography
- NGS applications and/or formulation processes
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant life sciences field (e.g., molecular biology, microbiology, biochemistry, biotechnology).
