Job\nTitle: Senior Product Compliance\nEngineer

Location: Barrow-in-Furness, Brough,\nFilton, Frimley, Portsmouth, Weymouth or Manchester. We offer a\nrange of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to\nyour recruiter about the options for this particular\nrole.

Salary: Negotiable, depending on\nexperience

What you’ll\nbe doing:

  • \n

    Attending and\nreporting to Daily Stand-Up Meetings\n(DSUM)

  • \n

    Design\nactivities including but not limited to supporting rick reduction/\nanalysis and identification

    \n

  • Applying a systems engineering\napproach to safety products including Working within a centralised\nmodelling tool

  • \n

  • Working within a small safety team\nenvironment

  • \n

    Supporting\nnon-safety experienced member of the wider team to achieve\ndesirable safety outcomes

    \n

  • Supporting and preparing safety\nassessments as required to support system design and\ndevelopment

  • \n

    Supporting\nthe preparation of Design Safety Justification supporting\ninputs

  • \n

    Providing\nSafety SME to product design and gate\nreviews

  • \n

    Supporting\nthe development and maintenance of a healthy product Safety Culture\nwithin the team and wider business

Your skills\nand experiences:

    \n
  • STEM degree (ideally with Product\nSafety experience within a regulated\nindustry)

  • \n

    Familiarity\nwith UK Defence Standard and publications such as Defence Standard\n00-56, Defence Standard 00-55, DSA-01,\nDSA-02

  • \n

    Familiarity\nwith safety analysis techniques such as: (FHA) (FTA) (ETA) (FMEA)\n(STPA)

  • \n

    An\nunderstanding of the principles and requirements of IEC 61508\nand/or IEC 61511 for complex Software and Hardware Safety\nInstrumented Systems

  • \n

The Safety\n& Environmental team:

As the Senior\nEngineer – Product Safety the primary duties for this role will be\nheavily focussed on the safety during the product design process.\nYou will undertake analysis and provide outputs to the Principal\nEngineers where they can provide assistance to develop designs\nfurther. We offer relocation support packages across all Submarines\nroles, subject to meeting eligibility\ncriteria
