Job Title: Senior / Principal Electrical Engineer

Overview:
We are working on behalf of a leading engineering consultancy that is actively expanding its delivery team in response to increased project demand in the UK water sector. They are looking to bring on a Senior or Principal Electrical Engineer to support design and construction projects in the clean and wastewater industries.
You’ll join a collaborative team delivering high-profile water infrastructure projects at feasibility, FEED, detailed design, and construction phases. The role includes site work, technical oversight, and cross-disciplinary coordination.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage electrical design activities on live water and wastewater projects

Provide oversight and approval of electrical and control deliverables across project stages

Coordinate with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders

Develop Electrical Load Schedules and specify MCCs, instrumentation, and telemetry systems

Prepare scopes of work for subcontracted installation and conduct technical bid evaluations

Support construction liaison, site surveys, and commissioning activities

Ensure designs comply with UK and international standards, including WIMES

Promote sustainability, Net Zero design principles, and robust safety practices
Requirements:

Degree or recognised apprenticeship in Electrical, Electronic, or Control Engineering

Chartered or working towards Chartership with a recognised engineering institution

Background in EICA design within water or wastewater projects

Experience reviewing and approving design documentation for construction

Knowledge of UK compliance standards including ATEX, CE/UKCA, EMC, and PED

Familiarity with managing safety, risk, and quality in a project delivery environment

Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a proactive and practical mindset
