Position: Senior to Principal Civil Infrastructure Engineer\n Location: Leeds\n Salary: £50,000–£60,000 (depending on experience)\n\nAbout the Company\n\nThis is a well-established, multi-disciplinary consultancy of Chartered Engineers based in Leeds, currently seeking an experienced Senior or Principal Infrastructure Engineer to support growing project demand and help lead the continued development of their civil engineering team.\n\nYou’ll be joining a thriving firm known for technical excellence and collaborative delivery. This role offers a clear progression path with the potential to move into a director-level position with company shareholding for the right candidate.\n\nThe Role\n\nAs a senior figure within their infrastructure division, you will lead a team of 8–10 Engineers and Technicians in the roads and sewers department. Your focus will be on managing projects, mentoring junior staff, and ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality infrastructure designs and reports.\n\nWhile the role is primarily based in Leeds and the North of England, occasional UK-wide travel to client sites will be required.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nOversee and review the quality of technical designs and reports.\nManage and mentor engineering staff, including involvement in recruitment.\nLead client meetings and project negotiations with stakeholders and approving authorities.\nMonitor progress across multiple projects, ensuring deadlines and standards are met.\nAct as primary client contacts for assigned projects.\nPrepare and review Health & Safety documentation.\nDesign highways and drainage infrastructure (S38, S278, S104), including SUDS.\nUse design software such as MicroDrainage, PDS, and AutoCAD to produce and check engineering solutions.\nTake projects from concept to completion, producing drainage strategies and liaising with local authorities and water boards.\nCandidate Profile\n\nMinimum of 4-6 years’ UK-based civil infrastructure experience in a consultancy environment.\nStrong technical knowledge of highways and drainage design standards.\nComfortable managing teams and delegating tasks effectively.\nSkilled communicator with experience leading client meetings and design coordination.\nProactive and confident in driving project delivery.\nEligible to work in the UK and holds a valid UK driving licence.\nSoftware Skills\n\nMicroDrainage\nPDS\nAutoCAD\nBenefits\n\nFast-track route to Director level with equity opportunities.\n26 days annual leave, including your birthday off, 3 fixed days over Christmas, and 22 flexible days.\nUp to 3 additional days of leave purchase available.\nFlexible working, including up to 2 days WFH (subject to approval).\nWellbeing Wednesdays and early Friday finish (3:45 PM).\nFree on-site parking.\nPension scheme chartered professional fees paid.\nAccess to BHSF Health benefits after 6 months.\nChildcare vouchers via Busy Bees.\nCycle to Work scheme.\nRegular social events and activities.\nAnnual performance-based bonus scheme
