Senior / Principal Civil Engineer (Residential Projects)\n\nLocation: Remote working\n\nOutisde IR35\n\nRole Overview\n\nWe are seeking a highly experienced Senior / Principal Civil Engineer to lead in the design and delivery of infrastructure for residential projects across the UK. The successful candidate will take responsibility for the technical, aspects of civil engineering within housing developments, ensuring innovative, sustainable, and cost-effective solutions that meet client, regulatory, and industry standards.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nTechnical Delivery\nLead design and coordination of highways, drainage, utilities, and site infrastructure.\nEnsure compliance with UK planning policy, Building Regulations, Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB), Sewers for Adoption (SfA), and local authority standards.\nApply advanced knowledge of software (e.g., Civil 3D, MicroDrainage, AutoCAD, PDS) to guide project delivery.Requirements\n\nEssential\n\nMinimum 12+ years civil engineering experience with a focus on UK residential development.\nProven track record in leading design and delivery of housing schemes.\nStrong understanding of UK planning system, Section 38/104/106 agreements, and NHBC standards.Desirable\n\nChartered Engineer (CEng) with ICE (Institution of Civil Engineers) or equivalent\nExperience in Design & Build contracts and working with major housebuilders.\nKnowledge of BIM processes and digital design delivery.\nExperience in sustainability frameworks (e.g., BREEAM Communities, net-zero infrastructure design).\nBusiness development and work-winning experience.ersg are an equal opportunities employer; we are committed to promoting equality of opportunity for all job applicants.
