Eaton’s ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a Senior Power Systems Controls Engineer.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $80,250.03 - $117,700.04. Please note that this is a general guideline; salaries depend on skills, experience, and market considerations.
This position is based out of Pittsburgh, PA; Rochester, NY; Clifton Park, NY; Mountainside, NJ; Philadelphia, PA; Baltimore, MD; Manassas, VA; Richmond, VA; or Boston, MA, with up to 50% travel. A company vehicle is provided.
What You’ll Do
The Senior Power System Controls Engineer will provide field service systems integration engineering and technical consultation. Responsibilities include system design, programming, installation, start-up, maintenance, repair, training, and modification of automated control and power management systems.
The Power Systems Controls (PSC) group is a full-service systems integrator with expertise in equipment and software integration, designing operator interfaces, and providing turnkey solutions across various OEMs and network architectures.
In This Function, You Will
Follow customer and internal project specifications.
Prepare project submittals and meet with clients.
Select components and create bills of materials.
Develop project drawings, review, and approve them; may include CAD responsibilities.
Ensure proper controls, metering, and monitoring are in place.
Write operating sequences and manuals.
Deploy custom power and control schemes, including load shedding, microgrid operations, and SCADA systems.
Work on automatic transfer controls between multiple sources.
Assist with factory testing and field start-ups.
Use test equipment and diagnostics for automation and power systems.
Troubleshoot system issues and work with relay logic and digital multifunction relays.
Possess Programmable Logic Controller experience.
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or 3+ years of controls experience, or 5+ years in power distribution controls.
Residence within greater North East US; no relocation benefits.
Valid driver’s license.

PE License.
Knowledge of SCADA systems and protocols (Modbus, DNP3, IEC-61850).
