Role Overview
We are looking for a Senior Power Systems Consultant to join Grid Software’s Power Technologies International (PTI) team. This role is crucial for planning and integrating renewables, storage, and FACTS into the electrical grid. The successful candidate will perform large-scale simulations of electrical transmission systems for utilities, RTOs, and energy asset owners to develop solutions for safe and reliable power system operations.
Responsibilities:
Perform and lead consulting engagements related to power grid analysis, system dynamics, interconnection, and grid code compliance.
Manage project execution, track progress, and adjust plans to maintain scope, schedule, and quality.
Maintain client relationships to ensure satisfaction and identify further business opportunities.
Support proposal development with project plans, budgets, and timelines.
Mentor and develop junior consultants.
Develop automation scripts to improve efficiency.
Deliver on-site consulting and training services.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s or postgraduate degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Power and Energy Systems.
At least 5 years of experience in power systems analysis for utilities, ISOs, RTOs, or developers.
Experience with power flow and dynamic stability analysis using PSSE, TSAT, TARA, PSLF, or PowerWorld.
Knowledge of NERC Reliability Standards and regional planning criteria.
Strong communication and technical report writing skills.
Ability to travel domestically and internationally (up to 10%).
Qualifications:
Prior consulting experience.
Experience with MISO and/or SPP regions.
Experience with transient analysis using PSCAD or EMTP-RV.

Salary range: $100,450 – 206,640, plus annual incentive. Actual compensation depends on experience and location.
