Senior Planning Engineer
Location: Office-based (5 days/week), Qatar
Contract: Until November 2029
Role Purpose:
Lead project planning, scheduling, and monitoring for offshore Oil & Gas projects, ensuring successful execution from initiation through close-out. Provide expert input for risk management, progress reporting, contractor performance evaluation, and schedule compliance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (B.Sc. or equivalent).
- Preferably PMP certified or equivalent professional certifications/memberships.
Experience & Skills:
- Minimum 15 years' experience in planning offshore Oil & Gas projects.
- Preferably 5+ years' experience with National or International Oil Companies.
- Expertise in project scheduling, monitoring, forecasting, progress verification, risk assessment, and variations/claims analysis.
- High computer literacy: MS Office, Primavera P6; experience with Primavera Risk Analysis and Power BI preferred.
- GCC project experience is desirable.
- Strong analytical, reporting, and stakeholder communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain Project Master Plans and schedules across all project phases, from initiation to close-out.
- Perform project planning, progress monitoring, forecasting, and reporting on weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual bases.
- Input into Project Execution Plans, Risk Management Plans, Change Management Plans, and project close-out activities.
- Maintain Integrated Resource Planning systems and align resources with project schedules.
- Develop planning requirements and instructions for tender documents and evaluate bidders' technical proposals for schedule compliance.
- Review, validate, and endorse contractor planning packages including execution programmes, recovery plans, and resource plans.
- Monitor contractor performance, conduct time and progress variance analysis, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Perform schedule risk analysis, "what-if" scenarios, and estimate progress for financial reporting and budgeting.
- Determine time impacts from scope changes, review Extension of Time (EoT) claims, and provide recommendations.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of project planning procedures, work instructions, and best practices.
