Senior Planning Engineer\n\n Watford, London\n\n £60,000 – £70,000 + car / car allowance\n\nCarmichael UK is seeking an experienced Senior Planning Engineer to join a dynamic regional team. In this role, you will oversee the planning and scheduling of multiple live projects valued up to £1 million. You’ll be a key figure in ensuring programmes are realistic, coordinated, and risk-aware—adding real value through proactive planning support and stakeholder collaboration.\n\nWhat you’ll be doing:\n\nCreating, developing, and maintaining project programmes using Primavera P6 (MS Project or Asta also considered)\n\nMonitoring project progress, identifying delays or risks, and providing mitigation strategies\n\nWorking closely with site and project teams to align programmes with logistics and on-site realities\n\nIdentifying and managing project risks, developing recovery and mitigation plans\n\nSupporting ECI planning and contributing to tender-stage submissions\n\nLiaising with commercial, design, and delivery teams to ensure programme feasibility\n\nProducing programme updates and reports for internal and external stakeholders\n\nWhat we’re looking for:\n\nStrong technical expertise in planning and scheduling tools (Primavera P6 )\n\nProven experience in planning and scheduling within the construction or civil engineering sector\n\nAbility to challenge and influence project teams with practical, risk-aware solutions\n\nExcellent stakeholder communication and reporting skills\n\nThe interview process:\n\nStage 1: Formal interview via Teams with Yvonne and Stevie Butler (Planning Manager), covering technical and competency-based questions\n\nStage 2: Informal meet-and-greet interview\n\nThis is an excellent opportunity to join a forward-thinking company where your planning expertise will directly influence project success.\n\n Apply now with Carmichael UK to take the next step in your planning career
