Job Description
Senior Planner with experience of working on major civil engineering projects within the rail, water, highways, and nuclear sectors. The initial contract is for nine months, focusing on supporting projects during their closure and handover phases.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nLead planning efforts to support the closure and handover phases of major civil engineering programmes\nIntegrate inputs from various planning team members into a cohesive and accurate programme\nEnsure alignment with NEC contract requirements, including periodic updates and reporting\nPerform elements of forensic planning, where required, to validate progress or resolve disputes\nMaintain and update schedules using Primavera P6, ensuring clarity, logic, and accuracy\nLiaise regularly with stakeholders across engineering, commercial, and leadership teams\nPrepare and present programme information and status reports for senior leadership\nEnsure that programme reporting and analysis support strategic decision-making and risk mitigation\n\nSkills and Experience Required:\n\nExperience working within major civil engineering programmes in the rail, water, highways, and nuclear sectors\nExpert user of Primavera P6\nDeep knowledge of programme integration and cross-discipline coordination\nExperience with forensic planning techniques and delay analysis beneficial\nSound understanding of NEC contracts and related programme requirements\nStrong communication and interpersonal skills, able to interface at all levels of an organisation\nCollaborative team player with the ability to lead planning workshops and build stakeholder consensus\nIf you are an experienced Senior Planner looking for a challenging role within major civil engineering projects, we would love to hear from you.
