Senior Planner - DV Cleared (Outside IR35)

Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Planning Engineer to be engaged on a contract basis (Outside IR35) to support a major defence programme. \n\nWorking alongside the embedded Defence PMO, the Senior Project Planner is the local point for all aspects of planning within the PMO. \n\nThis role will be based at our clients site in Reading, with ad-hoc travel as required.

A hybrid and '9 day fortnight' working arrangement is in place.\n\nResponsibilities:\n\nResponsible for planning, production and management of project schedule(s), both internally and externally.\nCoordination of work packages to schedule, tracking progress vs schedule, resource planning, coordination of sub-contractors.\nReview and approval of sub-contractor programmes.\nInterface with the stakeholders to identify and report on progress, change, risks and opportunities.\nInput to proposals relating to manhour estimates and planning.\nProduce concise, accurate reports of project metrics including critical path analysis to the Defence Infrastructure Lead Team.\n Candidate Profile (Skills, Experience & Qualifications):\n Experience:\n\nExperience as a project planner on NEC4 Contracts is essential\nMajor infrastructure design and build project background highly desirable\nExperience of working in the Nuclear or Defence Industry is highly desirable\nKnowledge or experience of working within Frameworks and Joint Ventures\n Qualifications:\n\nDegree , or other equivalent qualification\nPrimavera P6 trained\nProject Management qualification (e.g. APM) would benefit\n Key Attributes:\n\nEffective leader\nEffective communicator\nResults driven\nStrategic thinker\n For more information on this role or to register your interest for future job updates, please visit \n\nWhy We're Different: Westlakes Recruit are a people solutions business that understands the complexities of nuclear and the importance of our clients' mission critical objectives.\n\nSmarter, faster, more agile - we have a laser focus on nuclear, with deep sectoral knowledge.\n\nWe develop nuclear talent pools before you know you need them!
