Senior PCB Engineer\nSouth Cambridge area | hybrid (3 days on site)\nUp to £50k\n\nI’m supporting a leading, innovation-driven engineering consultancy that develops advanced, sustainable and safety-critical technologies across commercial, industrial and defence sectors. Known for integrity andcollaboration, they offer an environment where technical excellence and teamwork drive every project.\n \nThey’re now looking for a Senior PCB Design Engineer to play a pivotal role in transforming design concepts into high-quality, manufacturable boards. You’ll work closely with world-class RF, digital, power and analogue engineers, help strengthen supplier relationships, and contribute to enhancing PCB capability across the business.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nCreating manufacturable PCB designs from engineering schematics\nManaging schematic and PCB footprint libraries, plus scripting BoMs and generating manufacturing data packs\nMaintaining and developing relationships with PCB CAD and manufacturing suppliers\nAuditing suppliers and keeping up to date with new PCB technologies\nNegotiating stack-ups, timescales and costs with PCB suppliers and build contractors\nOverseeing the delivery of boards to agreed quality, specifications and deadlines (ISO9001 environment)\nPresenting designs in internal and external design reviews\nDriving continuous improvements and best practice across PCB processesWhat You’ll Bring:\nA strong portfolio of completed PCB designs - experience in RF, microwave or millimetre-wave is a big plus\nExpert user of Altium for schematic capture and PCB layout (essential)\nKnowledge of SMT, DFA, DFM and IPC standards for high-reliability products\nExperience supporting electronic and mechanical design teams\nAbility to solve complex design challenges and work independently under pressure\nConfident communicator able to negotiate with suppliers and collaborate internallyWhat’s on Offer:\n\nCareer progression routes - technical, commercial or managerial\nHybrid working (3 days on-site)\nA friendly, inclusive team culture with regular social events\nModern facilities just south of Cambridge with great transport linksIf you're looking for a role where you can genuinely influence PCB capability, work with top-tier engineers and be part of an organisation that values its people as much as its technology - this is one to explore.\n\nKeen to express your interest, or find out more?\nOption 1: Click the apply button (don’t worry, we’ll discuss your CV before submitting)\nOption 2: Drop me a message on LinkedIn (Rachel Bush – SoCode Recruitment)
