Job Description

Our client is a leader in advanced manufacturing and large-scale machine tool solutions, combining cutting-edge technology, precision engineering, and innovation to serve industries from aerospace to energy. Our client is an American company located in Rockford, IL.

The Senior Manager of Operations is responsible for overseeing the company’s activities from production to service, rebuilds & retrofits, maintenance, and installation of large-scale machinery. As a key member of the leadership team, you’ll oversee daily operations, optimize processes, and lead continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency and innovation. , to ensure efficiency, quality, and on-time delivery of products and services.

The ideal candidate: This is a high-impact role that oversees a team of 40 to 80 employees. The ideal candidate is an experienced leader who possesses strong technical skills, a passion for excellence, resilience, a team-oriented attitude, and the ability to engage and inspire.

What You’ll Do:

• Lead and coordinate all operational functions: production, service, maintenance, and warehousing, ensuring flawless execution and delivery.
• Monitor key performance indicators (efficiency, scrap rate, OEE, and cycle time) to drive productivity and cost improvements.
• Partner with engineering teams to industrialize new products and optimize manufacturing workflows.
• Implement and champion lean manufacturing and Industry 4.0 initiatives.
• Manage operational budgets, control manufacturing costs, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement across diverse teams.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and external partners to support strategic goals.

What You Bring:

• Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Management Engineering (or equivalent).
• 8–10 years of experience in operational leadership within manufacturing, ideally in machine tools or complex mechanical systems.
• Strong understanding of machining, assembly, and testing processes.
• Hands-on experience with lean systems and process optimization.
• Familiarity with ERP platforms (preferably SAP) and digital manufacturing tools.
• A results-driven, people-focused leader who inspires excellence and innovation.
