Senior Operational Comms Engineer in Cambuslang
Job DescriptionVenesky-Brown's client, a public sector organisation with various locations across Scotland, is currently looking to recruit a Senior Operational Comms Engineer for an initial 6 month contract with option to extend on a rate of £350/day (Outside IR35). This role will be based in Scotland.\n

Responsibilities:\n
\n
\n- Lead the support, monitoring, maintenance, and development of the organisations operational communications systems using ITIL best practices. \n
\n- Manage incidents, service requests, changes, problems, capacity management, and life cycle management of communications infrastructure. \n
\n- Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentoring to engineers and direct reports. \n
\n- Undertake line management duties including workload allocation, performance management, leave management, and staff development.\n
\n- Lead documentation, disaster recovery, business continuity, innovation, and procurement activities. \n
\n- Deliver third-line support for critical systems.\n
\n- Participation in a 24/7 on-call rota providing support for mobilising and essential systems.\n
\n- Travel throughout Scotland as required.\n
\n
Essential Skills:\n
\n
\n- HND in Digital Technology, Electronic Engineering, or related discipline.\n
\n- Extensive technical knowledge and experience supporting operational communications technologies and control systems.\n
\n- Ability and willingness to learn new technologies.\n
\n- Experience providing technical leadership and support to junior colleagues. \n
\n- Strong leadership and people management skills.\n
\n- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.\n
\n- Resilience under pressure.\n
\n- Problem-solving and decision-making ability.\n
\n- Commitment to , integrity, continuous improvement, and excellence.\n
\n- Ability to plan, prioritise, and implement work effectively. \n

Desirable Skills:\n
\n
\n- Degree-level qualification or equivalent experience.\n
\n- ITIL v4 Foundation (or higher).\n
