Must have an Active TS/SCI with CI Poly

MOSTLY REMOTE position willing to work in SCIF only 1 day per week in Washington, DC area and reports to the VP of Security.

This is a very senior position that will be managing a few engineers while doing hands-on work. Experience with Optical Fiber is required. Some domestic travel will be required.

What You’ll Do

• Deploy, configure, and support routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs in both data center and field environments.
• Install, terminate, and test single-mode and multi-mode fiber, handling end-to-end troubleshooting when issues arise.
• Act as a primary technical point of contact for customers, vendors, and internal teams during deployments and escalations.
• Develop and maintain clear, reusable documentation such as network diagrams, Methods of Procedure (MoPs), and runbooks.
• Assess potential risks during deployment and ensure compliance with government and security standards.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to embed security best practices into network architecture and deployments.
• Travel within the U.S. as needed to support site surveys, installations, and cutovers.
• Lead advanced troubleshooting efforts for network security issues, ensuring rapid service restoration and prevention of recurring incidents.
• Define, execute, and refine repeatable lab and field test procedures to standardize deployment practices and acceptance criteria.
• Coordinate closely with vendors, customer stakeholders, and internal teams to deliver on scope, schedule, and quality commitments.
• Share expertise through peer knowledge transfer and contribute to the development of best practices and lessons learned.
