About the Role:
The Senior Network Engineer will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining the manufacturing company's complex network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and security. This position requires leading network projects that support manufacturing operations, including automation systems, data communication, and enterprise connectivity. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate network solutions that enhance production efficiency and minimize downtime. The Senior Network Engineer will also be responsible for troubleshooting advanced network issues and proactively identifying opportunities for network improvements. Ultimately, this position ensures that the network infrastructure reliably supports the company's manufacturing processes and business objectives.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- At least 8-10 years of experience in network engineering, preferably within manufacturing or industrial environments.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, routing, switching, and firewall technologies.
- Experience with network monitoring and diagnostic tools.
- At least one professional security-related certification (CASP, CISSP, CISM, or CEH).
- Should have two or more of the following certifications such as PCNSA, CCNA, JNCIA, FCA, AZ-700 etc
- One or more advanced certifications: PCNSE, CCNP, JNCIP, FCP, Azure Solutions Architect.
- Experience with Palo Alto NGFWs, Fortigate, Cisco ASA, Firepower FMC, and F5 Load Balancers.
- Hands-on expertise in Cisco Catalyst Switches, Cisco Nexus, Cisco 4431/4451 Routers, and Aruba Wireless.
- Experience in IPSEC tunneling, network virtualization, Azure vNet routing, and SSL certificate operations.
- Solid understanding of GlobalProtect VPN and Barracuda Web Application Firewalls.
- Proficiency in endpoint protection technologies such as Microsoft Defender, secure mail gateways, and XDR solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct network traffic forensic analysis and manage extensive firewall security policies.
Qualifications:
- Experience with industrial network protocols such as PROFINET, EtherNet/IP, or Modbus TCP.
- Familiarity with network automation and scripting (e.g., Python, Ansible).
- Experience with cloud networking and hybrid network architectures.
- Strong knowledge of D-NAT, S-NAT, DHCP, DNS, and virtual port-channels.
Responsibilities:
- Design, deploy, and manage scalable and secure network architectures tailored to manufacturing environments.
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot complex issues to maintain high availability and reliability.
- Lead network upgrade projects, including hardware and software implementations, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
- Develop and enforce network security policies and procedures to protect sensitive manufacturing data.
- Work collaboratively with IT Director and Infrastructure Admins.
- Document network configurations, changes, and procedures to maintain comprehensive records.
- Evaluate emerging networking technologies and recommend improvements to enhance network capabilities and equipment modernization.
- Create and update professional diagrams and documentation.
