Senior Network Engineer (Cisco)

Responsibilities:

• Implements and supports a network, focusing on on-prem infrastructure (data center)
• Collaborates with cybersecurity team, as well as product + development, to assist in capacity planning and architectural direction
• Participates as a member of the Incident Response Team (on-call rotation)
• Leads critical IT projects to ensure network and security needs are addressed throughout the project lifecycle
• Operates and maintains the office networking components as needed, with support of Network Administrator
• Maintains the physical network infrastructure in the office and data centers (two locations, both local to Cincinnati)
• Assists engineers in directing network and firewall architecture and vendor selection
• Serves as the final escalation point for network and firewall issues
• Assists with maintaining the DR plan, contributes to the company’s business continuity testing
• Standardizes and automates monitoring, reporting, and alerting of network/firewall incidents
• Prepares reports on throughput, uptime, and other metrics for business and capacity planning
• Maintains security and connectivity of networks

Requirements:

• 8+ years of professional experience in network engineering and administration
• Strong experience with on-premise networks, including working in data centers
• Expertise with Cisco, Meraki, Palo Alto, and F5
• Strong understanding of routing and switching, TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, SD-WAN, VPN, BGP, NAC
• Experience with cloud networking is , including cloud certifications (GCP )
• Understanding of network security best practices – firewalls, intrusion detection, incident response, internet filtering, anti-virus
• Experience with Python or Shell scripting for network automation

Compensation:

• $140K - $160K
