Position Summary
This role supports the implementation of Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) technical consulting and product development services for Oceaneering business units and global clients. These services are to be in line with Oceaneering and client’s documentary requirements and onshore/ offshore legislation(s) where applicable which may include interpreting inspection data, generating reports and ensuring compliance with client specifications and industry standards. The position involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to optimize inspection workflows while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Identify and interpret indications or defects on CR/DR images, such as cracks, voids, inclusions, corrosion, or discontinuities.
- Analyze Ultrasonic data to determine the nature, severity, and significance of detected defects in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and specifications.
- Document findings accurately, including defect location, size, , and any relevant contextual information.
- Generate detailed inspection reports summarizing findings, interpretations, and recommendations for further action.
- Communicate effectively with relevant stakeholders, such as clients, engineers, or supervisors, to convey inspection results and discuss any follow-up actions required.
- Ensuring adherence to quality assurance procedures and protocols throughout the interpretation process to maintain consistency and reliability.
- Stay updated on industry best practices, technological advancements, and regulatory requirements related to CR imaging and interpretation.
- Collaborate with other members of the inspection team, including radiographers, technicians, and engineers, to optimize inspection workflows and outcomes.
- Carry out site audits where required and ensure projects are completed to detail in a professional manner.
- Ensure that non-conformances are being recorded and reported to the operations manager.
- Carry out work in accordance with Oceaneering Inspection operating procedures and statutory/client specifications and requirements.
- Interpret codes, standards & contractual documents that control the NDT method used.
- Prepare reports and presentations on the status of the design and development process for discussion with stakeholders.
- Perform all other duties as requested, directed or assigned
- Keep abreast of industry trends and issues

Qualifications
REQUIRED
- Master’s Degree in a related Engineering discipline (e.g., Mechanical or allied, Corrosion, Materials, Metallurgy Engineering) with minimum 6 years of experience
OR - Bachelor’s Degree in a related Engineering discipline (e.g., Mechanical or allied, Corrosion, Materials, Metallurgy Engineering) with minimum 8 years of experience
DESIRED
- Shall have NDT Level II qualification in MT, PT, UT & RT.
- NDT Level II qualification in MFL will be an advantage.
- Experience with simulation (CIVA, artist, COMSOL) and analysis (Tomoview, OmniPC, TDScan) software.
- Proficiency in interpreting radiographic images using various techniques.
- Strong understanding of NDT principles, standards (ASTM, ASME), and specifications relevant to the industry sector.
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to accurately identify and classify defects.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to articulate findings, and technical information to diverse audiences.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Good ability to develop relationships with client and contractor at various levels of seniority and from diverse cultures.
