The companys CyberSense product empowers organizations to detect ransomware and data corruption and facilitate rapid recovery from attacks. CyberSense is the last line of defense for thousands of organizations worldwide.
The Index Engines Engineering team uses the Scrum Agile methodology. The Engineering Team is distributed across four geographic locations: Holmdel NJ, San Jose CA, Colorado Springs CO, and Pune India.
The Role
We're looking for a Senior ML Ops Engineer to organize, operate, and continually improve the ecosystem thatpowers our machine-learning workflows-from ransomware sample acquisition to of training andvalidation data. You will manage large datasets and databases, automate critical tasks, monitor systemhealth, and provide operational support. As the platform evolves, you'll also take on research projects, helptrain new models, and implement ML-backed features in production.
Core Responsibilities
- Build, maintain, and monitor robust ML data pipelines and infrastructure.
- Orchestrate ransomware detonation, sample acquisition, and dataset workflows.
- Administer Linux/Windows systems plus virtual infrastructure (ESXi, vCenter, VirtualBox, Vagrant).
- Automate data collection, labeling, and reporting tasks via scripting and CI/CD tools.
- Manage large datasets and databases; ensure data integrity and security.
- Monitor health and performance of all pipeline components; troubleshoot issues.
- Optimize cloud-based and on-prem environments for ML workflows.
- Collaborate with ML engineers, data engineers, and IT to deliver reliable, scalable systems.
- Contribute to research initiatives and production feature development as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional software engineering or operations experience (3+ minimum acceptable).
- 3+ years of hands-on experience implementing and maintaining ML pipelines in production.
- Proficient in Python and/or C/C++; comfortable with pandas, NumPy, and scikit-learn.
- Strong grasp of algorithms, data structures, and Big-O analysis.
- Solid understanding of OS concepts (memory management, concurrency, I/O).
- Proficient in Linux shell scripting and process automation.
- Experience with version control and Agile collaboration tools (Git, Jira, etc.).
- Familiar with virtualization technologies (ESXi, vCenter, VirtualBox, Vagrant).
Experience
- Background in cybersecurity or fraud detection.
- Exposure to cloud services and infrastructure-as-code tooling.
- Understanding of deep learning architectures (transformers, LLMs) and CUDA acceleration.
- Familiarity with research environments and comparative model evaluation.
