Senior Mechanical Project Engineer in WC1A, Tottenham Court Road, Greater London

We are currently working with a well respected M&E contractor with a turnover of circa £400m with a very interesting order book of schemes across sectors in partnership with leadng main contractors who are looking for a senior mechanical project engineer to work from their head office in Liverpool on a detailed pre-construction phase of a £45m commercial and labs scheme. The project gets to site in Q2 of next year, you will then have the opportunity to go to site to deliver, acting as mechanical lead, reporting into an MEP project director.
Responsibilities:
• Read, understand and scrutinise Specifications, Programmes & Drawing
• Design review and validation
• Assisting with Procurement of Plant and subcontractors
• Liaising with Project Managers, Project Directors and external design consultants.
• Competent using Microsoft Office software
• Prepare Contract Documents I.e. Method Statements, Risk Assessments, RFI’s, etc.
• Coordination and management of subcontractors
• Instruct and coordinate construction managers
• Read, understand and scrutinise Sub-Contract instructions
• Commissioning and testing
The Ideal Candidate should have:
• Have at least gained a HNC in Electrical Engineering (or be working towards gaining)
• Must have experience running MEP over £5M
• Must have major commercial, healthcare or pharmaceutical experience.
• Strong communication skills
• Be within commuting distance of Slough
• A willingness to develop their career and to strive towards promotion
• Will be familiar working on large shell & core projects
• A minimum 5 years’ experience in a management role
• Ideally the candidate will have subcontracted to main contractors
