Job Summary:
The Senior Mechanical Engineer serves to focus on the design of mechanical systems for new facilities, additions, and renovation projects. This will require providing technical leadership for the creation of construction drawings and specifications, existing system studies, and master planning efforts. Qualified candidates will meet with clients, project teams, code officials, contractors, and others to address mechanical issues and develop effective working relationships. The project clientele includes higher education, commercial, hospitality, municipal, and institutional facilities.
In this role, you will:
- Manage the workload assignments of the Orlando office’s mechanical department
- Oversee and provide guidance to junior engineers
- Provide engineering design, evaluation, and planning of mechanical systems for a variety of market types
- Develop HVAC system designs for projects based on scope of work and/or client RFPs
- Review junior engineer’s design calculations and selection of equipment
- Write/edit project specifications
- Code compliance research
- Assist with construction administration services
- Perform QA/QC of detailed design documents, reports, and studies
- Meet with clients to determine and document requirements
- Lead project teams and serve as the primary contact for clients
- Assist in the procurement of new work, including the development of client relations and participation in project interviews
You will be a great fit if:
- Minimum 15 years of design/engineering consulting experience
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or related science
- Florida PE License
Skills/Abilities:
- Knowledge and understanding of AutoCAD, Revit, and MS Office
- Knowledge and understanding of Building Codes
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Ability to organize, balance, and prioritize multiple projects
- Ability to lead and work as a team
- Ability to solve problems and make analytical, timely, and well thought out decisions
- Have an excellent work ethic and attitude
