As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for the design and development of mechanical components and assemblies, with a strong focus on CAD, manufacturability, and integration with electronics and hardware. The position requires both practical design skills and a solid engineering background, including analysis and validation of your work.
Key Responsibilities
- Design components in sheet metal, aluminum, and plastics, applying DFM (Design for Manufacturing) principles.
- Utilize SolidWorks and/or NX for design and development.
- Use PDM systems such as SolidWorks PDM or Teamcenter for product data and BOM management.
- Create detailed engineering drawings with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), defining critical dimensions and tolerances.
- Perform engineering calculations and in-CAD FEA (e.g., natural frequency analysis of brackets).
- Support the integration of electronic and hardware components into mechanical systems.
Requirements:
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline.
- Proven experience in CAD design and DFM for metals and plastics.
- Demonstrated experience with PDM systems and advanced drawing standards like GD&T.
- Strong engineering fundamentals, including a solid understanding of calculations, vibration, and FEA basics.
- Experience in electronics and hardware integration.
- Availability of working in the Pacific Time Zone is a significant advantage.
