Senior Mechanical Engineer – Building Systems Design

Position Summary

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join a respected engineering firm with over 50 years of experience delivering responsible, innovative design solutions. This office-based role in Miami, FL focuses on the mechanical design of complex building systems in aviation, healthcare, education, and mixed-use commercial projects. Basic Qualifications

  • 7+ years of mechanical engineering experience in the AEC industry

  • Demonstrated expertise in HVAC system design and building mechanical systems

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field

  • Proficiency with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and relevant mechanical design software

  • Strong communication, time management, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work on-site full time in Miami, FL

Qualifications

  • PE (Professional Engineer) license or progress toward licensure

  • Prior experience in aviation, healthcare, or education sector projects

  • Familiarity with LEED or sustainable design practices

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead mechanical design for aviation, healthcare, educational, and commercial buildings

  • Collaborate with internal project teams including engineers, project managers, and directors

  • Produce high-quality CAD drawings and system layouts for HVAC and mechanical systems

  • Ensure technical accuracy and code compliance in all engineering deliverables

  • Contribute to R&D initiatives and adopt cutting-edge sustainable design techniques

  • Provide mentorship or technical oversight to junior team members as needed

  • Work independently while contributing to fast-paced project timelines
