Senior Mechanical Design Engineer – Bespoke Machinery

Location: Leeds, West Yorkshire (Office-Based)

Salary: Circa £50,000pa (negotiable depending on experience)

Hours: Full-time, Permanent – 4.5 Day Week with early Friday finish

Are you an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer with a background in special-purpose or bespoke machinery? Do you enjoy leading projects, mentoring other engineers, and solving complex design challenges?

We’re working with a growing machinery manufacturer who are looking for a Senior Design Engineer to join their expanding team. What you’ll be doing:

* Leading projects from concept through to completion

* Assigning tasks and reviewing the work of fellow design engineers

* Producing innovative designs using 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, or similar)

* Working closely with clients, suppliers, and internal teams to deliver bespoke machinery solutions

* Contributing to continuous improvement and engineering problem-solving

What we’re looking for:

* Proven experience in Mechanical Design Engineering, ideally in bespoke/special-purpose machinery

* Confident in leading projects and reviewing the work of others

* Proficient in 3D CAD (SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, or similar)

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

* Excellent communication and teamwork skills

* Adaptable and proactive approach, thriving in a dynamic environment
