SUMMARY
Designs and directs installation of mechanical or electromechanical products or plant systems by performing the following duties: Complete Engineering design of machines and components to meet Inductoheat and customer specifications, coordinates manufacturing efforts with Material Control, Sales and Manufacturing, Special effort in cost reduction and standardizing of drawings, engineering procedures, subassembly design, and machine design.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
The following established methods and procedures must be able to perform, but not limited to, the following:
· AutoCAD experience is required, and SolidWorks experience is highly desirable.
· Experience with drawing procedure and practices is required, this includes dimensioning and tolerancing techniques. Knowledge of machine shop practices and procedures is required. Experience with automotive specifications is desirable. An understanding of the physics of induction heating is desirable.
· Design and layout of mechanical assemblies and subassemblies.
· Ability to work with the power, controls and induction tooling engineers during project design phases.
· Working with outside vendors and shop personnel to follow up designs as they are built.
· Researching vendors and products to make better and less expensive products.
· Analyzes product or equipment specifications and performance requirements to determine designs which can be produced by existing manufacturing or processing facilities and methods.
· Confers with research personnel to clarify or resolve problems and develops design.
· Directs and coordinates manufacturing or building of prototype products or system.
· Compiles and analyzes operational, test, and research data to establish performance standards for newly designed or modified equipment or product.
· Evaluates engineering test results for possible application to developments of systems or other uses.
· Lead Mechanical Design: Design and optimize motion systems, including motors, bearings, actuators, and structural frameworks.
· Performance Analysis: Conduct tolerance analysis and apply GD&T standards to ensure precision and manufacturability.
· System Integration: Collaborate with electrical and software teams to ensure seamless integration of mechanical components.
· Fabrication Management: Create detailed CAD models, technical drawings, and assembly instructions, working directly with manufacturers and vendors.
· Global Installations: Travel internationally (<10% of the time) to oversee installations, ensuring all systems perform flawlessly onsite.
· Creative Ideation: Contribute to early-stage brainstorming, using sketches and models to communicate mechanical concepts.
· Project Planning: Support project development timelines and assist in estimating fabrication costs for budgets.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
· Bachelor's degree (B. S.) in Mechanical Engineering from four-year college or university
· Seven or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Experience: 8+ years in mechanical engineering, with expertise in electromechanical systems and motion design.
· Technical Proficiency: Advanced skills in CAD (SolidWorks or similar) and simulation tools (e.g., FEA).
· Manufacturing Knowledge: In-depth understanding of manufacturing processes, fabrication techniques, and finishing methods.
· Creative Problem-Solving: Ability to solve complex challenges while balancing cost, performance, and artistic goals.
· Hands-On Expertise: Skilled in prototyping and using tools such as CNC machines, laser cutters, and 3D printers.
· Communication: Strong ability to explain and visualize concepts through sketches and technical documentation.
· Adaptability: Comfortable working in a fast-paced, interdisciplinary environment with evolving challenges.
