Role- Senior Mechanical Design Engineer\n\nSalary- £45,000 - £60,000 per annum (dependent on experience)\n\nType- Permanent\n\nLocation- Huddersfield\n\nMy client is a specialist manufacturer of large metalwork & machinery. They are looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team in Huddersfield on a permanent basis.\n\nThe Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:\n\nGood knowledge of machinery design\nDegree / HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar\nAt least 7 years’ experience in a similar Senior Mechanical Design Engineering position\nChartered Status or working towards\nExcellent knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials – sheet metal, castings, machining etc.\nExcellent proficiency with CAD software – ideally SolidWorks\nExperience in a heavy, technical engineering industry would be ideal\nProven ability to drive Engineering development\nGood mathematical and general engineering knowledge\nThe ability to understand system requirements\nBe self-motivated with excellent attention to detail\nHave excellent communication skills both verbal and written \n\n The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer role will involve:\n\nUsing SolidWorks for concept design and producing technical drawings\nDesigning large machinery and structures\nLiaising with manufacturing providers\nBeing involved in final assembly of products, Stress & FEA testing\nCreating the required documentation for design as well as project reports / plans\nUpdating 3D models and drawings\nInputting parts into the MRP system creating BOMs\nChecking drawings for sign off\nWorking in a small multi-disciplinary team on varied projects \n\n If you are interested in this position, please apply with an up to date CV as soon as possible
