Senior Mechanic - Technician

Job Description Summary :

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Mechanic to join our team, specializing in the service and repair of equipment used in the commercial cleaning, restoration, and surface preparation industries. This role requires a high level of mechanical aptitude, technical proficiency, and strong communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and repair a wide range of equipment efficiently and accurately, including but not limited to:
  • 2-, 3-, and 4-cylinder gas engines
  • Truck-mounted carpet cleaning units
  • Portable carpet extractors
  • Hard surface floor cleaning machines
  • Duct cleaning equipment
  • Deodorizing units, dehumidifiers, air scrubbers, air movers, HEPA vacuums
• Utilize diagnostic tools, manufacturer repair manuals, and troubleshooting guides effectively
• Evaluate additional repair needs and communicate recommendations clearly to the service team and customers
• Meet or exceed quality and productivity goals set by the service department
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas
• Assist fellow technicians and collaborate with store staff as needed
• Accurately create service orders and manage repair schedules using scheduling software
• Communicate with customers via phone, email, and in-person to provide estimates, schedule services, and explain repair details
• Coordinate shop workload and repair priorities with other technicians and team members
• Order necessary parts and coordinate with vendors
• Uphold safety standards at all times, using proper protective equipment

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in any of the following:
  • Commercial cleaning and restoration equipment
  • Small engine repair and maintenance
  • Pressure washer or vehicle repair and maintenance
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record (no DUIs or reckless driving violations in the past 3 years)
• Own a basic set of mechanic tools
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Professional appearance, effective written and verbal communication skills
• Basic computer literacy
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs. regularly and work in a physically active role
• Willingness to work occasional overtime
