Marine Forces Reserve (MARFORRES) is seeking a highly experienced Materiel Readiness Specialist with expertise in Corrosion Prevention and Control (CPAC). This role supports reserve units nationwide by ensuring equipment accountability, readiness, and sustainability through audits, training, and maintenance oversight.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive audits and inspections focused on corrosion prevention, materiel accountability, and equipment readiness.
- Deliver hands-on training and mentoring to Marines on CPAC best practices and sustainment processes.
- Support the Supply and Maintenance Analysis Team (SMAT) with data collection, audits, and onsite inspections.
- Analyze records and recommend improvements for maintenance, sustainment, and readiness.
- Maintain and manage CPAC databases and container systems.
- Develop and submit monthly readiness updates, biweekly progress summaries, fiscal impact assessments, and training documentation.
- Coordinate with government personnel and Major Subordinate Commands to enforce CPAC compliance and alignment with directives.
- Travel to Marine Reserve locations (up to 50% of the time) for audits, inspections, and training.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in Marine Corps supply, logistics, or maintenance roles.
- Thorough knowledge of Marine Corps logistics and maintenance directives (e.g., MCO 4400.150, MCO 4790.2).
- Proficiency in corrosion prevention procedures, coatings, and equipment sustainment.
- Familiar with GCSS-MC, logistics readiness reporting systems, PBL contracts, and DLA protocols.
- Strong analytical, auditing, and independent problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written); ability to mentor and train effectively.
- U.S. (in compliance with DoD Directive 5230.25).
- Must have or be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
- Valid driver’s license; able to travel via commercial air for up to a week at a time.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary: $78,000 – $90,000 per year (based on experience).
- Travel: Up to $75,000 reimbursed annually in accordance with Joint Travel Regulations.
- Vacation: 20 days paid vacation per year.
