Position Summary
- Under supervision of the Maintenance Manager, performs a wide variety of repairs, preventive maintenance tasks and various other duties as assigned.
- Works independently at assigned building locations.
- Common repair tasks will include drywall patching & painting, installing vinyl wall protection, HVAC equipment maintenance, plumbing repairs, lighting re-lamping, outlet replacement, ceiling tile replacement and other tasks as needed.
- Perform regular inspections of building exterior(s) and performs any necessary repairs or makes arrangements for future repairs.
- Independently utilizes a digital work order system for managing assigned tasks.
- Identifies potential future capital projects at assigned buildings.
- May travel in LMH owned vehicle to (multiple) buildings located throughout the area.
- May assist with snow removal and grounds care as needed.
- Assist other Hospital maintenance personnel in performing preventive maintenance, data cabling, and other routine and major repairs in the Health System and its equipment, or the installation of new equipment.
- Works with outside contractors as needed during larger construction projects.
Requirements
- Read, write and follow oral and/or written instructions and dexterity to use standard hand and power tools.
- Work requires between three to five years of general maintenance experience.
- Use independent judgment in determining equipment problems and method of repair.
- Work requires responsibility for materials and equipment.
- Work requires the use of considerable care in using tools and/or performing tasks normally regarded to be potentially dangerous to ensure the safety and protection of others.
- LMH is accredited by DNV and TJC, and as such, may require specific annual education related to specialty certifications and standards.
