Hybrid Onsite Every Other Week in Westlake, TX

The organization seeks a backend-focused software engineer to modernize mainframe capabilities and deliver customer-centric digital experiences across web and mobile. You will develop reusable Java applications and APIs, optimize deployment practices on AWS, and participate across the full development lifecycle within an agile, multi-functional team. The role emphasizes maintenance and enhancement of existing services with opportunities to mentor peers and pursue ongoing learning.

Due to client requirements, applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis. For our w2 consultants, we offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance.

Rate: $68.00 to $78.00/hr. w2

Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain reusable Java services and applications to support large-scale digital experiences.
• Develop, document, and maintain customer-facing RESTful and SOAP APIs using Spring Boot and related frameworks.
• Modernize mainframe-dependent capabilities by implementing scalable cloud- solutions on AWS.
• Implement and support AWS services including SQS, SNS, Lambda, Kubernetes, and data services such as PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, RDS, and S3.
• Enable high-quality releases through iterative development, testing, and optimized deployment practices.
• Collaborate with business, operations, and systems partners to enable new capabilities and address regulatory and customer needs.
• Participate across the full software development lifecycle from concept to production deployment.
• Create and maintain technical documentation for services, APIs, and deployment processes.
• Contribute to engineering community practices by sharing knowledge and supporting continuous improvement.

Experience Requirements:

• 5+ years of software engineering experience.
• Proficiency with Java 8+ and Spring Boot for REST API development.
• Experience with Python scripting for automation and support tasks.
• Hands-on experience deploying code and operating workloads on AWS.
• Experience designing, building, and documenting customer-facing RESTful and SOAP APIs.
• Practical knowledge of AWS services such as SQS, SNS, Lambda, Kubernetes, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, RDS, S3, Kinesis/Kafka, and CloudFormation.
• Strong skills in relational and non-relational databases, data modeling, and testing.
• Experience delivering across the full development lifecycle from analysis through production.
• Ability to interpret high-level business requirements and drive clarifying questions.
• Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize workload in a collaborative environment.
