BE THE SENIOR TECHNICAL ADVISOR CLIENTS TRUST FOR COMPLEX CHALLENGES
Join Bayport Networks as a Senior IT Consultant where you'll serve as the technical leader and strategic advisor for diverse Bay Area clients. You'll manage critical infrastructure projects while providing expert-level consultation, escalated problem resolution, and technical leadership that goes beyond basic support.
WHAT MAKES THIS ROLE SPECIAL:
• 70% infrastructure architecture and strategic projects, 30% senior-level client consultation
• Serve as the escalation point for complex technical challenges
• Build strategic relationships with client leadership and technical teams
• Lead technical decision-making and mentor client IT staff
• Work with mission-driven organizations across biotech, aerospace, and NGOs
YOUR SENIOR-LEVEL IMPACT:
Senior Client Advisory & Technical Leadership
• Serve as senior technical advisor and escalation point for 3-5 client accounts
• Conduct strategic planning sessions and architecture reviews with client leadership
• Lead complex troubleshooting efforts that require senior-level expertise
• Mentor client IT staff and provide technical guidance on best practices
Escalated Technical Problem Resolution
• Handle complex technical issues escalated from client internal teams or help desk
• Provide expert-level analysis for critical system failures and performance issues
• Lead incident response for major outages affecting business operations
• Design solutions for challenging integration and compatibility problems
Strategic Infrastructure Projects
• Architect and implement enterprise Linux environments and cloud solutions
• Lead infrastructure modernization and digital transformation initiatives
• Design security frameworks meeting regulatory compliance requirements
• Manage complex migrations and technology refresh projects
Technical Leadership & Consultation
• Provide strategic technology recommendations and roadmap planning
• Conduct technical assessments and recommend optimization strategies
• Lead vendor evaluation and technology selection processes
• Present technical solutions and recommendations to C-level executives
WHAT YOU BRING TO SENIOR CLIENT SUCCESS:
Senior Technical Expertise:
✓ 5+ years Linux system administration in enterprise environments
✓ Advanced cloud platform experience (AWS, Azure, GCP) with architecture design
✓ Windows Server and Active Directory in enterprise environments
✓ Network design and troubleshooting at an expert level
✓ Virtualization platforms (VMware vSphere, Hyper-V) with cluster management
✓ Security frameworks and compliance implementation (HIPAA, SOX, FDA)
Senior Client Advisory Experience:
✓ 3+ years serving as technical escalation point or senior consultant
✓ Experience presenting to C-level executives and making strategic recommendations
✓ Track record of leading complex technical projects from conception to completion
✓ Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions
✓ Experience mentoring junior technical staff or client teams
